The parrot input by exclaiming that the Lombaxes were the saviours of the universe. After realising he was not the Smuggler explained that 'they' were the Lombaxes and how they had completely vaporised the cragmite race in an instant. When Clank asked who 'They' was, the Smuggler turned around in disbelief and questioned if he was joking. When they enter the planets atmosphere we are given a cutscene where Smuggler explains to Ratchet that Tachyon basically owns the entire galaxy, and claiming it to be ironic that 'they' failed to kill off one measly cragmite that would later rule that very Galaxy. Smuggler then gives Ratchet the Gelanator.Īfter reactivating the plant the Smuggler offers the heroes a trip to Stratus city (Planet Kortog). The Smuggler sees an opportunity arise and makes a deal with Ratchet and Clank, claiming he could give them a ride off this planet if they could reactivate the Geletonium Plant. After explaining his situation, Ratchet too also states that they are stranded because 'their' ship crashed, causing the parrot to insist on killing Ratchet and Clank and selling their kidneys. The Smuggler apologises for the parrots words and introduces himself. The Parrot claimed that the two were 'Imperial Spies and that they would need to kill them and hide their bodies'. "AWK! Blame the parrot! Always blame the Parrot!"Įnter Ratchet and Clank, where Clank inquired about their situation. "Don't you lay this on me, you worthless sack of Kerchu sweat! You were supposed to watch the Gel Guage!"

The Smuggler had landed there in hope to refuel from the Gelatonium Plant but only to find it is closed (thanks to Tachyon not wanting Ratchet to go any further), where he promptly blames his parrot. He is introduced along with his parrot on planet Cobalia. Tools of Destruction is where we first meet the Smuggler.
#Ratchet and clank wiki tod Patch
So is this just a design mistake? Or is the Smuggler just wearing that patch to make himself look cooler? But is it really damaged? In later games the eyepatch switches to the other eye.

We know it is not missing because in the scene in which we first meet the Smuggler, he pulls up the eye patch and shows us. In a conversation with Ratchet he mentions this line - "almost costing me my one good eye" from that (and the fact he wears an eye patch) we can safely assume he has a damaged eye. It is also unknown about the situation with his eye. The parrot then became the Smuggler's companion. Slag wagered a parrot while Smuggler wagered his one good eye, fortunately for him, he won. On one occasion he played a game of Blargian Roulette with Captain Romulus Slag. He considers himself merely a 'humble smuggler' but was persecuted wherever he went, mainly by Emperor Tachyon's Imperial spies. The Smuggler is one of the most mysterious characters and we can only know what he has told us. As well as purchasing leviathan souls, Gargathon horns and at one point asking the lombax to find his parrot. His business with Ratchet consists of selling him gadgets and making a RYNO for him (Provided he keeps the plans). The Smuggler is accompanied by a parrot, who takes part in his 'business' operations, and the 2 rarely act alone. So even though it is never brought up, we call him the 'The Smuggler', a title that really just defines who he is. His identity is kept a secret, his species, home planet and his name are unknown. The Smuggler is a runner of illegal black market goods, a thief and a hunter across the Polaris galaxy.
